Research projects to be discussed

Technical information sessions dealing with the conclusions of 13 research projects funded under Quebec’s Mineral Development Agreement with the federal government have been organized for Feb. 25 at Val d’Or, Que.

The symposium is being organized jointly by CANMET (Canada Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology) and the Centre de Recherches Minerales, in co-operation with the Quebec Mining Association.

Mining session topics will include narrow vein mining technology, technical and economic feasibility of underground backfill, and portable gold analyzer. Mineral processing session topics will include production and applications of expanded graphite, and processing and productivity of gold in Quebec concentrators. A round-table discussion will wind up the day’s activities.
