Toronto-listed junior Rio Narcea has found a new zone of gold mineralization at its property in northern Spain.
The new zone, known as the Boinas West, lies between the Boinas and El Valle deposits and was tested with a 6-hole program. The best result assayed 13.27 grams gold per tonne over 16 metres. Other assays ranged between trace and 1 gram over 2-4 metres.
In addition to the drilling at Boinas West, three core rigs are testing the Boinas and El Valle deposits.
Two additional holes have been drilled at the Boinas deposit, extending the known strike length of the upper oxide zone and lower breccia zone to 320 and 150 metres, respectively. Hole BOI 28 intersected 12.58 grams over 3.6 metres in the upper oxide zone and 10.6 grams over 11.75 metres in the lower breccia zone. Hole BOI 29 hit 1.44 grams over 22 metres in the upper oxide zone. At El Valle, two additional holes (VAL 43 and VAL 45) have been drilled. The best intercepts from these holes were 2.4 grams over 12.55 metres and 2.82 grams over 4.75 metres. The strike length of the east breccia has been extended to 180 from 100 metres.
