RJK, Lenora set to drill Stares

Geophysical surveys, surface prospecting and trenching have outlined a target area for drilling at the Stares zinc-copper property, west of Thunder Bay, Ont.

Partners RJK Explorations (RJX.A-V) and Greater Lenora Resources (GEN-T) are investigating an area where glacially transported boulders with sulphide mineralization form a dispersion train. The boulders are mainly felsic volcanic rocks, and appear to have come from a felsic fragmental unit up-ice.

Trenches in the area of this rock unit have uncovered zones of coarse fragmental rock, suggesting a volcanic vent area may be nearby. An induced-polarization survey detected a chargeable zone (potentially a disseminated sulphide body) near the felsic horizon as well. There is a 300-metre strike length on the horizon that has not been drilled.
