Royal Oak expects production rise

Gold production for Royal Oak Mines (TSE) reached 318,236 oz. in 1994, and is expected to rise to 425,000 oz. in 1995 at a projected cash cost of US$290 per oz.

Throughput at the Colomac mine in the Northwest Territories is steadily improving, and production is expected to reach 135,000 oz. this year. Colomac is expected to reach its rated capacity of 170,000 oz. per year in 1996. Production estimates for 1995 at the company’s other three mines include 105,500 oz. for the Giant mine in Yellowknife, N.W.T.; 91,000 oz. for the Pamour mine in Ontario; and 93,500 oz. for the Hope Brook mine in Newfoundland.
