Increased production is expected from the Ruby mine, a placer-gold deposit in Grass Valley, Calif.
So far, about 47 tons ore averaging just over 0.2 oz. gold per ton have been produced from two new areas, reports Brush Creek Mining & Development (NASDAQ).
Production from the Black Channel area is said to be increasing while the Lawry site averages 75 tons per day. During October, total production from the two sites was 1,800 tons with an average grade of 0.1 oz. Grades vary because of nugget size and distribution. The largest recovered nugget is reported to be 2 oz. in size.
The company estimates the mine will remain profitable as long as 10-20 oz. are produced daily.
