Sabina encouraged by Hackett River drilling

Sabina Resources‘ (SBB-V) is cutting impressive mineralization as it firms up the silver-rich massive sulphide resources at its 70-sq.-km Hackett River property, 75 km south of Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut.

Drilling expanded the known extent of the Boot Lake deposit cutting an interval, which graded as high as 566 grams silver per tonne, 21% zinc and 5% lead over 3.75 metres. This intercept is contained within a 23-metre wide zone grading 230 grams silver, 10% zinc, 0.3% copper and 1.4% lead at a vertical depth of 250 metres.

Two other holes, spaced at 50 metres and 100 metres west of this, also cut significant mineralization. The closest hole hit a 21-metre interval grading 125 grams silver, 4% zinc, and 0.13% copper at a vertical depth of 225 metres. This interval contains two intercepts: one 4.75-metre interval grades 101 grams silver and 10% zinc; while a 13.5-metre intercept grades 113 grams silver and 6% zinc. True width is estimated to be about 90% of these down-hole widths.

The farther hole cut several narrower intervals from 0.7-9.55 metres wide grading up to 700 grams silver and 12.4% zinc. The 9.55-metre interval graded 0.4% copper in addition to 4.6% zinc and 21 grams silver per tonne. In this hole true width is estimated to be about 75% of these widths.

The western extension of the west limb of the A zone, or main zone, deposit was tested by one hole, which cut intervals from 2.8-17.3 metres wide grading 0.8-2.85% copper and 18-50 grams silver per tonne. In this hole true width is estimated to be about 60% of the drill intercept.

Two holes were abandoned due to technical difficulties.

In July Sabina plans to release an updated mineral resource based on drilling up to the end of last year. Prior to NI 43-101, Hackett River was estimated to contain in the order of 20 million tonnes of massive sulphide within five deposits.

A unit of Teck Cominco (TEK-SVB-T) holds the rights to either a buy-back option, or a 2% net smelter royalty, while Etruscan Resources (EET-T) retains a 10% net profits interest royalty.

Sabina is also active in the Red Lake area of Ontario.
