Treasurer Robert Nixon announced in the May 17 budget that OMEP would be phased out and replaced by two new mineral exploration incentive progra ms — the Onta rio Prospectors Assistance Program (OPAP) and the Ontario Mineral Incentive Prog ram (OMIP). These programs were designed to assist individual prospectors and ju nior companies that do not qualify for either flow-through funding or the federa l government’s Canadian Exploration Incentives Program (CEIP).
