SGS acquires Wamtech

Global certification experts SGS has acquired geochemistry technology provider Wamtech.

The acquisition will integrate Wamtech, responsible for developing the Mobile Metal Ion (MMI) geochemistry technology, with SGS’s services.

MMI technology is used to detect deeply buried precious and base metals mineralization, and kimberlites.

According to SGS, the technology allows companies to reduce exploration costs due to the precision of the MMI geochemical results.

This acquisition adds to SGS’s network of over 1,000 offices around the world.
