Partners Sharpe Energy & Resources (VSE) and Freewest Resources Canada (TSE) are encouraged by results of the second hole drilled on their Bend massive sulphide deposit in Wisconsin.
Hole B94-18, which tested the western margin of the deposit, intersected the mineralized horizon from 552 to 774.5 ft.
The section between 554 and 611.8 ft. contained mineralization which assayed 2.2% copper and 0.046 oz. gold and 0.41 oz. silver per ton over 57.8 ft. The best intersections within the zone include 2.9% copper, 0.038 oz. gold and 0.55 oz. silver over 38.9 ft. (from 554 to 592.9 ft.) and 3.8% copper, 0.052 oz. gold and 0.75 oz. silver over 22 ft. (from 570.9 to 592.9 ft.) Additional drilling is under way in an effort to add tonnage to the deposit near the surface, and also along the eastern and western margins. Based on previous drilling, the deposit contains an indicated resource of 3.3 million tons grading 2.05% copper, 0.07 oz. gold and 0.41 oz. silver. It is open downdip and along strike.
Sharpe and Freewest are earning a 60% interest in the property from Cyprus Amax Minerals (NYSE).
