Four timely short courses are to be offered at the 2004 PDAC International Convention. There are two for the explorationist which take place on Saturday, March 6. Exploration for Iron Oxide hosted Copper-Gold Deposits assembles the geologic setting and exploration strategies for discovering these world class deposits and provides a series of case studies describing deposits on all continents. Remote Sensing will discuss productive and cost-effective discovery using various instruments and their integration into a successful exploration program.
Two short courses are offered that address the issues that mining companies will need to integrate into long-term corporate planning. A breakfast course taking place on Wednesday, March 10 entitled An Update on Legal Issues and Developments in the Mining Industry views Canadian and global issues affecting daily operations of junior and major companies, ranging from National Instrument 43-101 to Black Empowerment. A 2-day, post-convention workshop on Sustainable Development will look at various aspects that include defining the concept and the practical implementation of the “Seven Questions to Sustainability” as well as the contribution of mining to past, present and future well-being.
