Showing found at Stares

Induced-polarization (IP) surveys and trenching have revealed base metal mineralization at the Stares property, west of Thunder Bay, Ont.

Partners Greater Lenora Resources (GEN-T) and RJK Explorations (RJX-A), who are earning a 100% interest in the property from the original stakers, the Stares brothers, discovered the showing about 300 metres up-ice from the head of a boulder train the prospectors had found in 1996. Grab samples from the boulders had assayed up to 26% zinc.

Grab samples from the bedrock showing returned grades of 0.21% to 1.86% zinc, with copper and lead values, as well as 5 to 50 grams silver and 0.08 to 0.5 gram gold per tonne. The mineralization, with base metal sulphides, pyrite and pyrrhotite, is in felsic tuffs showing strong sericitic alteration. The deposit responded strongly to an IP survey conducted across a 500-metre strike length of the mineralized horizon.

The companies plan to conduct more trenching and blasting in order to sample deeper beneath the oxidized bedrock surface.

Greater Lenora and RJK can earn outright ownership from the Stares brothers by making cash payments of $37,500 each and issuing 80,000 shares each. The prospectors retain a 3% net smelter return royalty.
