Skylark finds high grade gold at Finlay River land holdings

The executives at Skylark Resources, (VSE) Vancouver offices say they are encouraged by some high grade gold/silver discoveries at the Toodoggone gold camp in northern British Columbia.

The latest discoveries were reported on a 23,000-acre land package called the Finlay River project which is slated for an intensive exploration program this year.

Samples taken from an area near the boundary separating Cheni Gold Mines’ (ME) Wrich and Skylark’s skarn claims, assayed as high as 1.57 oz gold per ton and 1.20 oz silver, Skylark said.

The remaining float material from the site was collected for check purposes and returned an analysis of 8.45 oz gold and 5.97 oz silver.

“The assays are among some of the best ever recorded in the Toodoggone gold camp,” said Skylark Director Frank Kelly. “If they are not the highest then they are certainly among some of the highest,” he said.

According to Kelly, additional exploration led to the discovery of five parallel mineralized quartz- carbonate veins exposed on surface within a zone approximately 1,500 ft wide by 600 ft in length. The veins vary in width from one to 10 ft wide, and are open along strike, Kelly said.

Grab samples on one vein outcrop yielded a high value of 4.46 oz gold and 3.25 oz silver. Additional grab samples taken from individual veins returned values as high as 0.067 oz gold, 10.6 oz silver, 1.3% copper, 9.0% zinc and 3.1% platinum.

Skylark has also encountered two parallel quartz-chalcedony stockwork vein and breccia zones (Beaverdam showings) on the common boundary area separating Asitka Resources’ (VSE) Grace and Skylark’s Jok claims.

Measuring 600 to 900 ft long by 50 to 75 ft wide, the zones are separated by a 200-ft zone of stringer veinlets.

Chip samples from the trenched discovery showing (West zone) assayed as high as 0.107 oz over a 3.6-ft width

While details aren’t available yet, Skylark is planning a major exploration program at Finlay River including drilling on the new discoveries and follow-up work on other geochemical anomalies.

Under the terms of two agreements, Skylark can earn a 50% interest in Cheni’s Wrich Nos 1 to 3 claims and a 50% interest in the Grace 1 to 3 claims from Asitka Resources.
