Slam cuts narrow zones at O’Hearn

Vancouver — A six hole drill program by Slam Exploration (SXL-V) has returned some encouraging polymetallic values from the O’Hearn-Strachens massive sulphide property near Bathurst, New Brunswick.

Five of the holes cut narrow zones of high-grade lead-zinc-silver mineralization. Highlights include:

• Hole 1 — 1.3 metres grading 1.6% copper, 21.1% lead, 27.8% zinc, 281 grams silver and 0.65 gram gold per tonne from 35.2 metres downhole,
• Hole 2 — 0.7 metre grading 1.7% copper, 10% lead, 22.6% zinc, 202 grams silver and 0.26 gram gold from 18.3 metres downhole,
• Hole 4 — 0.3 metre grading 1% copper, 13.6% lead, 21.2% zinc, 256 grams silver and 0.21 gram gold from 61.6 metres downhole,
• Hole 5 — 0.5 metre grading 1.1% copper, 12.1% lead, 24.2% zinc, 225 grams silver and 0.26 gram gold from 39.7 metres downhole, and
• Hole 5 — 1.1 metre grading 1.3% copper, 2.7% lead, 1.7% zinc, 184 grams silver and 0.16 gram gold from 83.3 metres downhole.

Holes, 1, 2, 4, and 5 tested a 100 metre strike length section of the O’Hearn zone, while hole 6 tested a prospect 500 metres to the south. Hole 3 tested for the source of massive sulphide boulders discovered last year but failed to cut any signifcant mineralization.

The New Brunswick-based junior acquired the O’Hearn lead-zinc-copper-silver property through staking. Located in the Bathurst mining camp, the property hosts a resource of 29,900 tonnes grading 13.4% zinc, 8.2% lead, 1% copper and 90.2 grams silver.
