St. Jude to fast-track Benso

Vancouver With over 1.3 million oz. gold tabled on St. Jude Resources’ (SJD-V) combined Benso and Hwini Butre properties in Ghana, the junior is fast- tracking its project toward the feasiblity stage.

A new resource estimate by independent consultants, Watts Griffis and McOuat covers five of 15 mineralized zones found on the Subriso block – one of three blocks within the company’s Benso concession.

At a cut-off of 0.5 grams gold per tonne, these five deposits contain 3.76 million tonnes grading 3.28 grams gold per tonne in the measured category, and just shy of 1.5 million tonnes grading 2.4 grams gold in the indicated category. In addition there is an inferred resource of 126,400 tonnes grading 2.68 grams gold in the inferred category. Measured and indicated resources give a total of 487,000 contained oz. of gold with another 11,000 oz. inferred.

Meanwhile, at the company’s Hwini Butre project next door, an updated independent resource estimate confirms that there are 5.9 million tonnes grading 3.46 grams gold (660,000 oz. in-situ) in the measured and indicated categories plus another 237,000 tonnes grading 1.82 grams gold for 14,000 oz. in-situ. As well, an eluvial resource of 3.86 million tonnes grading 1.36 grams gold give 169,000 oz. gold.

The resource estimates are based on 37,653 metres of drilling in 428 drillholes. Drilling is ongoing as the company intends to increase the resource by early next year.

Specific gravities used in the resource are 2.00 for oxide and 2.80 for sulphide material. Over 95% recovery rates have been shown in recent metallurgical testing of the non-refractory deposits.

Pre-feasibility work is looking at developing these near surface deposits as open pits in conjunction with one another. Environmental studies, plant and mine design are underway to prepare for reaching the development stage.
