Star yields low count

A sub-surface layer of till containing kimberlite float boulders in the Northwest Territories has returned a low diamond count. Ashton Mining of Canada (ACA-T) discovered the layer on the Star joint-venture property earlier this summer. A 126-kg sample yielded just two microdiamonds.

Ashton found the the boulders while conducting prospecting and hand trenching in an area where two till samples each contained more than 10,000 kimberlite indicator minerals. Given the low diamond count, no further work is planned for locating the source of the float. Ashton will continue to analyze data from this year’s till sampling and geophysical surveys in order to determine the extent of future work.

The Star property is held 56% by Ashton, 24% by Pure Gold Minerals (PUG-T) and 20% by Tenajon Resources (TJS-V).
