Stroud makes strides in Mexico

Stroud Resources (SDR-V) is posting solid results from La Rayas, one of two mineralized zones, at its 100%-owned Santo Domingo project, 90 km northwest of Guadalajara in Central Mexico.

Results so far suggest that La Rayas is 35 meters wide, 300 meters deep and is greater than 700 meters long. (The Guadalupe zone is sub-parallel to La Rayas and lies about 125 metres to the southeast.)

The latest assays illustrate that the Rayas zone, which remains open to the south and north, may be continuous for more than 500 metres.

The most recent results include drill hole 28 (DDH-28), which intercepted a number of mineralized zones. Drilled on the same section as DDH-27, DDH-28 intersected 32.6 metres of 42.06 grams silver per tonne and 0.12 gram gold per tonne, and 3.05 metres of 98.11 grams silver per tonne  and 0.03 gram gold per tonne for a silver equivalent of 100.15 grams per tonne.

The same hole also struck 15.25 metres of 73.06 grams silver per tonne and 0.48 gram gold per tonne for a silver equivalent of 105.20 grams per tonne; and 4.6 metres of 55.76 grams silver per tonne   and 0.31 gram gold per tonne for a silver equivalent of 76.84 grams per tonne.

DDH-29a assayed 61.38 grams silver per tonne and 0.16 gram gold per tonne over 80.75 metres for a silver equivalent of 72.26 grams per tonne, including 59.40 metres of 75.76 grams silver per tonne and 0.17 gram gold for a silver equivalent of 87.32 grams per tonne, and 27.45 metres of 89.16 grams silver per tonne and 0.26 gram gold per tonne for a silver equivalent of 106.84 grams per tonne, and 9.15 metres of 134.28 grams silver per tonne and 0.54 gram gold per tonne   for a silver equivalent of 171 grams per tonne.

One hundred and fifty metres to the south of DDH-29, DDH-30 intersected 10.65 metres of 111.69 grams silver per tonne and 0.43 gram gold per tonne for a silver equivalent of 140.93 grams per tonne and 7.6 metres of 69.93 grams silver per tonne and 0.38 gram gold per tonne for a silver equivalent of 95.77 grams per tonne.

Stroud predicts the deposit will contain 18 million tonnes with an average grade of 8 oz. silver per tonne and 0.02 oz. gold per tonne for a potential total of 150 million oz. silver.

Mineralization at Santo Domingo occurs in a series of banded and breccia-style epithermal quartz-carbonate veins, typically made up of silver and gold with less than 2% copper and lead, the company states.

The mineralization is contained in faulted 20 million-year-old volcanic rocks. After these rocks were mineralized they were overlain by basalt lavas. Santo Domingo and other epithermal vein-type deposits in the area are associated with extensive fracture systems.

In addition to the Santo Domingo project, Stroud holds a 100% interest in the Hislop gold property near Timmins, Ontario, and the Leckie gold property, near North Bay, Ontario.

Stroud also receives cash flow from a 3.75% interest in six natural- gas and natural-gas condensate wells in central Alberta.

In Toronto Stroud is currently trading at about 6.5¢ per share and has a 52-week trading range of 5¢-17¢ per share. The company has 134.45 million shares outstanding.
