Australia-based mineral analysis company Intellection has merged with Welsh geoscience firm X-Ray Mineral Services (XMS).

Intellection hopes the merger will help to increase its presence in the oil and gas sectors. Using a 240,000 (Nearly $474,000) regional assistance grant from the Welsh assembly government, the newly

created company, Intellection (UK) Ltd., will launch a major expansion of its previously existing North Wales operation.

The merger will create 20 new jobs at Intellection.

XMS provides X-ray analysis services for the petroleum industry. The company has also expanded to include soil, clay and mineral analysis.
