Larox of Finland has published a pressure filtration application guide for mining and minerals. The guide tells how a talc producer has reduced moisture and increased production throughput by introducing pressure filtratrion. At a zinc processing plant, the problem of high lead dust content in air was solved by lowering the moisture content of zinc and lead concentrates. In addition, a surge in capacity made plant expansion possible. A copper and lead capacity plant was able to meet the transportable moisture limit after the introduction of pressure filtration technology.

Terex Corp. of Green Bay, Wisc. has increased its regular annual cash dividend 20% to 6 cents per share payable May 1 to shareholders of record April 19. Chairman R.W. Lenz expects continued good results from Terex’s heavy equipment business and from the Fruehauf truck trailer division.

To meet demand, DuPont has expanded its operations in Memphis, Tenn. and Texas City, Tex. and is starting up a 20-million-lb-per-year facility in Mexico.
