Teachers buy Inmet shares

Recent insider trading transactions reported by the Ontario Securities Commission in its OSC Bulletin include the following:

  • Armada Gold (AAU-T) — John Hopkins, director, sold 100,000 shares indirectly at 5-6 cents per share to hold 1.1 million shares indirectly and 328,500 options directly.
  • Gitennes Exploration (GIT-T) — Jerry Blackwell, president, sold 100,000 shares at 25 cents to hold 745,900 shares.
  • Golden Knight Resources (GKR-T) — Robert Quartermain, director, bought 20,000 shares at 60-62 cents to hold 285,000 shares.
  • Goldnev Resources (GNZ-V) — Leslie MacConnell, director, bought 300,000 shares indirectly at 7 cents to hold 421,000 shares indirectly and 4,000 shares directly.
  • Inmet Mining (IMN-T) — The Ontario Teacher’s Pension Plan, owner of more than 10% of the company, bought 301,200 shares indirectly at $1.83-2.00 and sold 2.85 million convertible debentures indirectly at $100 to hold 5.09 million shares indirectly and no convertible debentures.
  • Manhattan Minerals (MAN-T) — Brian Lock, director, bought 12,200 shares directly at $2.70 and 12,200 shares indirectly at $2.70 to hold 53,500 shares directly and 93,000 shares indirectly; and Peter Tegart, director, bought 30,000 shares directly at $2.45-2.65 to hold 414,550 shares.
  • Pure Gold Minerals (PUG-T) — Eugene Beukman, director, sold 326,500 shares directly at 17-20 cents and 20,000 shares indirectly at 18 cents, bought 226,500 shares directly and/or privately at 19 cents, was granted 314,800 options (which can be converted to an equivalent number of shares at 19 cents each), and exercised 200,000 options at 19-30 cents to hold 100,500 shares directly, no shares indirectly and 100,500 options; and Donald Sheldon, director, sold 488,500 shares directly and/or privately at 16-19 cents, bought 188,500 shares at 17 cents, and exercised 200,000 options at 19 cents to hold 348,811 shares and 1.17 million options.
  • Rhonda Mining (RDM-A) — Glen Alston, director, sold 255,500 shares at 10-11 cents to hold 399,250 shares.
  • Verena Minerals (VMCO-C) — Elmer Salomao, director, sold 532,000 shares at 25-28 cents, was granted 200,000 options priced at 26 cents and exercised 141,269 options at 22-35 cents to hold 564,049 shares and 468,731 options; Neto Salomao, director, was granted 200,000 options priced at 26 cents and exercised 141,800 options at 22-35 cents to hold 2.64 million shares and 468,200 options; Walid El Koury Daoud, director, was granted 200,000 options priced at 26 cents and exercised 79,400 options at 22 cents to hold 679,400 shares and 530,600 options; and Oscar Neto De Gouveia Carvalho, deemed an insider under various legislation, was granted 100,000 options priced at 26 cents and exercised 137,766 options at 22-35 cents to hold 1.76 million shares and 372,234 options.
