Teck bows out of Platinova play

Vancouver-based Teck (TSE) has withdrawn from participation in the East Greenland gold-platinum project of Platinova Resources (TSE), the latter company reported. Toronto-based Platinova said an assay check carried out by Teck on drill core from the Skaergaard intrusion in eastern Greenland verified previous analyses.

“The overall resource, however, does not meet Teck’s criteria and they have withdrawn from the project,” Platinova President Robert Gannicott said.

Platinova will continue with its original plan to drill-test a second area of the same project (the Kap Edward Holm intrusion) where a layer of platinum and gold mineralization was discovered late in the 1990 field season, Gannicott said.
