Teck options claims

Drilling by Teck (TSE) will test extensions of known copper mineralization, as well as new targets, on the Rainbow claim group optioned from Getchell Resources (VSE).

The major can earn a 70% interest in the 50-claim unit by spending $300,000 on exploration over the next three years. The property is 10 km southwest of Kamloops and within the Iron Mask Batholith.

Previous operators outlined three zones of porphyry-style copper and gold mineralization similar to the nearby Afton and Ajax deposits. A haulage road between Ajax and Afton crosses the southern edge of Getchell’s claims. Getchell notes that more drilling is required to determine if grades and tonnages exist in sufficient quantities to warrant development. Teck’s program will include linecutting, ground magnetics and induced polarization surveys, as well as lithologic and alteration mapping, trenching and 2,100 metres of diamond drilling.
