Trevali Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Trevali Resources (tv-t), has awarded Peru-based TECSUR a contract to build the power transmission line from its Santander silver-lead-zinc mine to the Peruvian national grid, Sistema Eléctrico Interconectado Nacional (SEIN).
TECSUR is a subsidiary of Luz del Sur of Lima, a large Peruvian power distribution and energy solution provider, which is owned by international power companies SEMPRA and AEI Energy.
Trevali is upgrading its 100% owned 1.6 megawatt (MW) Tingo run-of-river hydroelectric power plant to 8.8 MW capacity. Construction of the transmission line is a core component in Trevali’s plans to become a power generation company in addition to 100% power self-sufficient.
