Terramar progresses on California mine

Terramar Resource Corp. confirms that dewatering of its Reid mine in California is well advanced. The program commenced in mid-July and included exploration work for vertical and lateral extensions of former producing areas.

The existing mine shaft has been retimbered for about 220 ft between surface and the 200 haulage adit level. The mine has been dewatered down to the 500 level or some 395 ft below the 200 level, says Louis P. Starck, president.

Power is being brought into the property and a substation, hoisting plant and electric air compressor are being installed at the mine site. Once these are completed, dewatering will continue to the 900 level or some 1,100 ft vertically below the shaft collar. Development work will be done to reopen the 200 level north of the shaft. Diamond drilling is planned for the Reid, Central, Evening Star and other parallel veins as warranted.

Terramar is controlled by Pacific Concord Resource Corp. which is finalizing the acquisition of Concord Gold, holder of a large block of mining claims in southwest Oregon. The acquisition ran into a few road blocks and now is being completed through a Bermuda corporation. Concord says it will continue drilling the property and complete its various permitting initiatives.
