Bulk-sampling results are enabling partners Lytton Minerals (LTL-T) and New Indigo Resources (NDR-A) to prove up their Jericho diamond project, north of Lac de Gras in the Northwest Territories.
The processing of a 95.4-tonne mini-bulk sample of the land-based JD/OD-1 pipe returned preliminary grades of 1.46 carats per tonne for stones measuring greater than 1 mm in one dimension, and 1.03 carats for those stones greater than 2 mm.
Preliminary valuations of these diamonds would seem to confirm a previously reported value of US$95 per carat.
The JD/OD-1 pipe is estimated to contain a resource of 15 million tonnes to a depth of 750 metres.
An underground, 15,000-tonne bulk-sampling program was expected to be completed by presstime. The sample was to be processed at the nearby Lupin gold mine, owned by Echo Bay Mines (ECO-T), using a 250-tonne-per-day pilot plant.
An agreement with Echo Bay grants Lytton and New Indigo access to the Lupin mine site and a range of facilities.
