presented its Peacock Memorial Prize for 1986 to Michael Jones (left), an M.Sc. student at the department of earth sciences, University of Waterloo, Ont., in recognition of his work on late-stage secondary fracture mineralization, a subject of increasing importance in geology as a result of proposed schemes to store hazardous waste in crystalline rock.
