Toronto mining analyst Edward Thompson has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Mingold Resources. The newly formed company is equally owned by a subsidiary of Inspiration Resources Corp. and by a subsidiary of Minorco Canada.
Mingold, based in Toronto, will explore, develop and acquire gold properties in Canada.
Mr Thompson has served as a senior executive of Granduc Mines, Lacana Mining Corp. and Teck Corp. He is a past president of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and recently chaired an Ontario government committee on junior mine financing.
