Three companies continue drilling northern Que bet

Joint venture partners Golden Triangle Mining Exploration, Monica Resources and Canadian Industrial Minerals Corp. say further diamond drilling will begin early this month to test a geological environment on their Harricana West and Harricana East properties in northern Quebec.

An initial exploration phase has been completed on the two properties, including overburden and diamond drilling, designed to test both geological and geophysical anomalies.

The companies say they have discovered an east-to-west shear zone or “break,” with characteristics similar to the Casa Berardi break.

The initial diamond drilling has identified a zone more than 70 ft wide characterized by brecciation, quartz veining, graphite, and disseminated sulphide.

This zone has identified 0.07 oz gold per ton, across widths of over one metre, it’s reported. Overburden drilling on this zone identified coarse, visible gold at the bedrock surface, and highly anomalous basil till.

Golden Triangle must spend $1,135,000 on the Harricana West property, and just over $1,000,000 on the Harricana East property by the end of February, to earn a 70% interest in both.
