Trading records set by TSE

The Toronto Stock Exchange recorded its most active day ever on Feb. 3 when 106.3 million shares worth $1.3 billion (not a record) were traded.

The daily feat comes on the heels of monthly records set in January, when some 1.65 billion shares worth $19.8 billion changed hands. The old monthly records were set last November.

Compared with January, 1993, trading volume increased 83% and the total dollar value was up 146%.
