Junior Tri Origin Exploration (TSE) has drilled an 11-hole program totaling 2,500 metres and performed a downhole electromagnetic survey on its Sault gold property, 90 km north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Seven of the holes were drilled to investigate a 1.8-km-long induced polarization anomaly in the southwestern portion of the property. These intersected gold mineralization associated with massive sulphides. The best assay, which was from veined material, averaged 38 grams gold per tonne over 1 metre. A 7-metre section of massive sulphide mineralization averaged 1.1 grams.
The remaining four holes were drilled on a gold-bearing alteration zone associated with another geophysical anomaly, in the northern part of the property. Each of these holes intersected sulphide mineralization with low gold values.
Currently, Tri Origin is completing geological and geophysical surveys on its Straw Lake property, 300 km west of Thunder Bay, Ont. Surface exploration has also been performed at the company’s English project south of Timmins, Ont. Follow-up drilling is planned for the Sault property and preliminary drilling is expected for the English and Straw Lake projects.
