Toronto-based Tri Origin Exploration (TSE) has discovered a new zone at its Lewis Ponds polymetallic project in New South Wales, Australia.
The mineralized structure exists below a major fault structure, about 450 metres below surface.
Drill Holes 27, 28 and 29 intersected mineralization that returned low assay values. Three other holes — 30, 28w and 29w (the last two being wedged) — extended the edge of the deposit to 100-150 metres north of, and 110-250 metres below, any previously known mineralization.
Hole 28w intersected 7.73 grams gold per tonne gold, 34 grams silver, 0.06% copper, 0.19% lead and 0.27% zinc over 5 metres, while Hole 30 returned values of 0.63 grams gold, 81 grams silver, 0.15% copper, 1.98% lead and 2.61% zinc.
Said President Robert Valliant: “We’re pretty keen (about these) intersections. We’re hitting good geology and think we’re on the edge of the deposit. Our next job will be to drill updip and home in on the deposit, as well as upgrade our mineral inventory to a resource.”
The mineral inventory at Lewis Ponds currently stands at 4.8 million tonnes averaging 3.52 grams gold, 116 grams silver, 0.19% copper, 3.02% lead and 4.94% zinc.
