Trivalence nets $479 per carat for African gems

Trivalence Mining (TMI-T) has completed a second sale of diamonds from its Aredor diamond mining concession, 700 km east of Conakry, Guinea.

The company received a tender price of US$1.36 million for 2,826 carats of diamonds, for an average price of US$479.68 per carat.

In the year ended May 31, 1997, the company produced a total of 12,229 carats of diamonds, with average returns of US$342.26 per carat.
