Trivalence picks Aredor gem

Junior Trivalence Mining (TMI-V) has recovered a 146.8-carat diamond from its Aredor alluvial concession in Guinea.

The stone, which is described as gem-quality, was derived from a stockpile of oversized material that has accumulated since the company acquired an 85% interest in the property in 1996.

Between 1984 and 1994, Aredor produced more than 1.2 million carats from alluvial deposits worth US$377 million. Trivalence renewed operations shortly after acquiring its interest.
