Two additional zones found by Parquet Res.

Two additional gold-bearing zones have been discovered in the current diamond drilling program on Parquet Resources’ 2,000-acre gold property in Courville Twp., in the Val d’Or area of Quebec.

The H zone, in the southwest part of the property, is about 14,000 ft west of the previously outlined South-East zone, says President William Plexman.

This new H zone consists of sheared silicified, pyritized tuff with an 11-ft section from 901 ft to 912 ft in hole No 38 assaying 0.11 oz gold per ton. A 4-ft section lower down in the hole returned 0.05 oz.

The second new zone called the Contact zone lies about 2,000 ft north of the previously outlined Central zone. The Contact was discovered by Hole 37 which cut through a long section of quartz- tourmaline veins and veinlets in the immediate vicinity of the main contact between the volcanics and the batholith granitoid rocks.

Mr Plexman says the Contact zone extends for more than two miles across the property and is virtually unexplored.

Numerous veinlets, more or less pyritized, are present for a core length of 82 ft between 509 ft and 591 ft in Hole 37. Assays returned 0.196 oz over 7.5 ft between 509 and 516.5 ft. Lower in the hole, at various depths, gold assays per ton returned 3 ft of 0.05 oz; 3 ft of 0.03 oz; 2.5 ft of 0.06 oz; 2.5 ft of 0.07 oz; 3.0 ft of 0.11 oz and 1 ft of 0.2 oz.

The Central zone, which has now been partially drilled along 600 ft, has core in three holes bearing visible gold, says Mr Plexman. Hole 18 returned 1 ft of 2.97 oz. Hole 25 averaged 6.1 ft of 0.118 oz. The most recent assay in hole 29 returned 0.45 oz over 1 ft.

Hole 23, the most easterly hole drilled on the South-East zone, contained visible gold which assayed 3.60 oz across 1 ft. The South East zone has now been extended for over 1,400 ft east and west, both ends open, says Mr Plexman.

At the company’s Duparquet property in the Rouyn-Noranda area, mineralized sections of drill core have been sent out for assay.

Five drill holes have been completed on the Holmwood option in the Beardmore area of northwestern Ontario. Short sections have been cut in all holes with gold values ranging from 0.02 oz to 0.35 oz, says Mr Plexman. Drilling is continuing.

Mr Plexman says the company has a total of six diamond drills operating on its three properties in order to complete its scheduled exploration program.
