U.S. REPORT Oracle Ridge coming along

Production is expected to begin in the third quarter of 1990 at the Oracle Ridge project being developed by South Atlantic Ventures (VSE). The company reports that the mining contractor is proceeding with stope development and that actual ore mined to date has a higher grade than reserve expectations. Mill supply for the first six months of production will be provided by the developed area as well as from existing stockpiles.

Erection of the crushing plant is complete as are the foundations for the mill including the installation of the ball mill and the tailings thickeners. The erection of structural steel is now in progress.

South Atlantic noted that the development of the project was still within the US$6-million budget.

The Oracle Ridge project is 15 miles northwest of Tucson, Ariz., and reserves were last reported at four million tons grading 2.33% copper and 0.67 oz. silver per ton.
