Underground program for SB project

A $520,000 underground program will begin mid-May on the SB joint venture near Stewart, B.C. Costs will be shared equally by partners Tenajon Resources (VSE) and Westmin Resources (TSE).

In 1991, the two companies mined 113,049 tons grading 0.25 oz. gold per ton from the Facecut/35 zone on SB. Tenajon reported a profit of more than $2 million from the venture.

This year, the neighboring Kansas zone will be explored. The program will consist of 130 ft. of drifting and 450 ft. of raising in waste, as well as 550 ft. of drifting and 115 ft. of raising within the zone. A drill program totalling 6,200 ft. will also be completed.

A roughly 2,000-ton bulk sample from underground development will be processed at Westmin’s nearby Premier mill. The two companies will share any revenue generated.
