Among the active issues during the week ended Jan. 14 was White Star Copper Mines, which traded 100,000 shares in a 68-55 cents range. White Star has a deal with Falconbridge Ltd. which will see the latter drill on White Star’s property adjacent to Falconbridge’s Kidd Creek mine at Timmins, Ont.
Members of the Lockport, N.Y.-based “unit-shareholder group,” which owns 40% of the 35,000 outstanding units of the syndicate which owns the control block of common shares in Teddy Bear Valley Mines, met recently to determine a course of action regarding the syndicate. Shares of Teddy Bear last traded at $2.
Planned by the New York members is the calling of a meeting of syndicate unitholders. According to group representative Paul Zyla, members have advanced funds for the purpose of retaining counsel to call such a meeting. Teddy Bear has potentially valuable gold property in Harker and Holloway twps. near Matheson, Ont.
Geomaque Explorations was 2 cents bid, 6 cents ask on the week. The junior has several property holdings, including in the Cobalt, Ont., area and Bourlamaque Twp. in northwestern Quebec.
