A drill program by VenCan Gold (VCG-M) will focus on the Opoteca gold-silver concession in central Honduras.
In April, VenCan carried out limited sampling on the land package, which includes a Spanish silver mine that dates from the early 1600s. Four samples assayed more than 16 oz. silver and 0.029 oz. gold per ton. This summer, the company completed a $70,000 program of geochemistry, mapping, gridding and geophysical work.
The next phase of exploration entails a 7,000-ft, 20-hole drill program.
VenCan has filed for six gold-silver-copper concessions covering 39,000 ha in southeastern Honduras where other companies have made discoveries.
