With a fourth mine in Brazil now in production, Aura Minerals’ (TSX: ORA) CFO Kleber Cardoso is confident the company will achieve about 271,400 oz. of gold-equivalent production this year.
The company’s Almas mine is ramping up after starting production last August on time and on budget. Aura’s next job is to repeat that performance with its Borborema and Matupa development projects.
“Almas was one of the fastest ramp-ups in our industry,” Cardoso told The Northern Miner’s western editor, Henry Lazenby, during last month’s Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada’s convention in Toronto. “We’re going to be able to go ahead and do the same with our next two projects.”
Aura plans to build a fifth mine in Brazil, Borborema, and start commercial production by mid-2025.
The company also recently reported a significant lift to its resource and reserve base.
