The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and the Geological Association of Canada (GAC) are seeking applicants for the 2006 Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award.
The award is presented annually to a graduate student at a Canadian university whose thesis incorporates geoscience mapping as a significant component. It’s hoped that the award will help increase knowledge of Canada’s geological history through mapping.
The award consists of $3,000, a certificate, and an opportunity to attend the annual meeting of either the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada or the Geological Association of Canada.
The award honours the memory of Mary-Claire Ward, a relentless advocate for geoscience mapping in Canada. The award is organized through a combination of the PDAC, GAC, the National Geological Surveys Committee, Watts, Griffis and McOuat, and the Canadian Geological Foundation.
The deadline for applications is Dec. 15. For further information, visit www.pdac.ca or www.gac.ca
