An exploration program has been completed on the Kerr property owned by Western Canadian Mining Corp. The program of drilling, trenching and geochemical surveys outlined three target areas which will require follow-up exploration. The project is located on Sulphurets Creek in northern B.C.
On the A zone, drilling cut 6.6 ft grading 0.57 oz gold per ton and 38 oz silver in hole 6. Hole 7 intersected 6.6 ft grading 0.375 oz gold and 6.33 oz silver. This mineralized zone has been mapped for 400 ft along strike and to a depth of 100 ft, the company says.
Drilling also partially tested the B zone, which hosts copper-gold mineralization. Hole 5 cut a 64.3-ft section grading 0.7% copper and 0.025 oz gold. Hole 8 intersected 202.4 ft grading 1.11% copper and 0.012 oz gold. Work in 1988 will focus on extending and defining the mineralization in zones A and B.
