Western Copper Holdings (WTC-T) and joint-venture partner Teck (TEK-T) have released further drill results from the San Nicolas project in Mexico’s Zacatecas state.
Drill hole SAL-40, collared 100 metres west of hole 37 and 100 metres southwest of hole 33, returned a 39.5-metre intersection grading 1.79% copper, 0.32% zinc and 6.2 grams silver per tonne, starting at a depth of 471 metres.
Hole SAL-41, collared 100 metres west of hole 30 and 100 metres north of hole 31, intersected 122.8 metres grading 0.86% copper, 1.24% zinc, 19.8 grams silver per tonne and 0.42 gram gold, including a 20.9-metre interval grading 0.29% copper, 5.05% zinc, 57 grams silver and 1.13 grams gold, starting at a depth of 232.1 metres. The same hole yielded another mineralized interval, namely, 30 metres grading 1.46% copper, 0.16%, zinc 5.7 grams silver and 0.01 gram gold, starting at a depth of 316 metres.
Stepping out another 100 metres to the west, hole SAL-42 cut 198.3 metres grading 1.85% copper, 0.52% zinc, 15 grams silver and 0.15 gram gold, starting at a depth of 224.7 metres. A 15-metre intercept within hole SAL-42 graded 0.47% copper, 4.04% zinc, 58.1 grams silver and 1.11 grams gold.
Another intercept, measuring 63.8 metres and starting at a depth of 302.5 metres, ran 3.18% copper, 0.16% zinc and 10.5 grams silver.
Hole SAL-43, a 200-metre stepout east of hole 35, intersected 123.4 metres grading 1.15% copper, 3.94% zinc, 47.7 grams silver and 0.98 gram gold, including 43.3 metres grading 0.43% copper, 5.19% zinc, 50.2 grams silver and 1.31 grams gold, starting at a depth of 224.7 metres. Another intercept graded 3.63% copper, 0.38% zinc, 14.9 grams silver and 0.08 gram gold over 17.5 metres, starting at a depth 268 metres. And a 32.7-metre interval starting at 302.5 metres ran 1.33% copper, 5.75% zinc, 81.6 grams silver and 1.36 grams gold.
Diamond drilling has delineated massive sulphides over an area of 600 metres by 500 metres at San Nicolas. Two drills are currently spinning in an effort to further define the deposit on 100-metre centres.
