Western International drills Arizona copper

Reverse circulation drilling has started on Western International Explorations’ (CDN) Stray Elephant copper property in Arizona.

The 8,000-ft., 30-hole program, which is testing for extensions of known mineralization along strike, is aimed at upgrading reserves. Surface mapping and testing have confirmed the continuity of the deposit and provided a bulk sample of more than 2,000 lb. which was used in seven column leach tests.

Test samples range from 0.54% to 0.88% copper and average 0.68%. Recoveries range from 59.3% to 91.9% and tests confirm that the copper-oxide mineralization is heap-leachable.

Western International recently exercised its option to lease the property.
