WHAT’S NEW Snow Sensors

A new temperature and precipitation sensor and a snow-melting control unit, developed by Environmental Technology (South Bend, Ind.), are now available.

The sensors, called the cit-5 and cit-6, convert both snow and ambient temperature information into logic signals for snow-melting and rain- deviator control systems.

The lcd-3 unit incorporates both precipitation and temperature sensors while solid state and electromechanical contractors control heater loads of up to 240 v olts at 25 amps.

If precipitation occurs at temperatures below 40 degrees F the unit activates the snow-melting heaters. Heaters continue to operate for one hour after snow melts in order to remove accumulated snow or ice.

Sensors can be located up to 1,000 ft from the control electronics. Quantity price discounts are available.
