Wajax Industries is marketing the newest front-end loader from Marathon LeTourneau. Labelled the L-1100, the 1,050-hp loader has a breakout force of 188,000 lb and a payload capacity of 33 tons in a 22-cu-yd bucket.
It is said to take only 13 seconds to hoist the fully loaded bucket from ground level to dump height (7.5 m); duty cycles can be as low as 35 seconds. A 2-speed, hydraulic hoist handles both normal and load-and-carry duty.
A 4-wheel electrodynamic retarding system brings the loader to a full stop without service brake use thereby reducing brake wear and repair. The company’s exclusive axle-mounted, all-wheel traction motors increase tractive effort, reduce wheel spin and extend tire life, the company says.
