WHAT’S NEW The Tools of Automation Button Bit Grinder

Cme Blasting & Mining Equipment of Oakville, Ont., is marketing a new grinding tool manufactured by Delro Industries (Winnipeg, Man.).

Called Super-Diaroc, the tool is designed to retrofit tungsten carbide buttons on in-the-hole hammer bits. It can grind out steel surrounding the buttons and reshape the button back to its original shape. “You do not have to worry about destroying the tool by accidently hitting any steel while regrinding the buttons,” says Blayne Farebrother, Delro’s diamond products representative. Retrofitting time is reduced by using one tool for the two grinding functions. The redress time spent on each tungsten carbide button remains the same.
