White Knight launches Lower Plate contest

In a contest designed for mining enthusiasts who enjoy rolling the dice, Vancouver-based White Knight Resources (WKR-V) is asking visitors to its web site to predict where the Lower Plate will be intersected in north-central Nevada. Those who guess correctly will receive one of three 2-night trips, including airfare, to Las Vegas, Nev., and US$1,000 in “fun money.”

Known as the “Lower Plate Challenge,” the contest in effect allows participants to join White Knight’s technical team.

Within one day of launching the contest, White Knight was inundated with calls and visits to its web site. “We wanted to bring people into the process,” says Kareen McKinnon, vice-president of corporate development with White Knight. “Maybe we can spread the word about fun in mining again. I hope people copy us.”

Each contestant must select one of the three drilling programs under way at Slaven Canyon, Fye Canyon and McClusky Pass, and predict the level at which the Lower Plate will be intersected. The levels are divided into 5-ft. increments, and the contestant is allowed to select only one 5-ft. increment in a drilling program.

Residents of Quebec, New York and Florida are ineligible, as is anyone employed directly or indirectly by White Knight. The contest opened June 12 and runs to Dec. 1. For more information, visit www.whiteknightres.com

White Knight controls 18 properties spanning 240. sq. km in Nevada, 15 of which are in the Cortez trend. The company expects to drill 22,500 metres on nine properties on 2005.
