Several wildcat drill holes put down by Belmoral Mines on ground acquired by Wrightbar Mines adjoining its Bourlamaque property have intersected what President William Cluff calls “typical ore-type mineralization.” adjoining its Bourlamaque property have intersected what President William Cluff calls “typical ore-type mineralization.”
Complete assays for these sections, which run from 1.6-19.7 ft of core length, are expected shortly.
As of mid-October, seven holes had been completed on the virtually unexplored area centred 2,000 ft west of a ramp being driven on the original property. The drilling was done along the volcanic- intrusive contact and intersected pyritized quartz-tourmaline veins and vein material in shear zones within the granodiorite.
Drilling, funded by Belmoral, is continuing on the zone.
Meanwhile, Wrightbar says the ramp being driven by Belmoral has advanced 1,600 ft and reached a vertical depth of 290 ft.
Detailed sampling of the D Zone (N.M., Sept 15 /86) indicates an average grade of 0.29 oz gold per ton across a true width of 17.2 ft where the ramp intersected the zone. A milling test of several hundred tons of material from the D Zone was done at the nearby Belmoral mill with a 93% recovery rate achieved.
About 100 ft further down the ramp a second, flat-dipping zone was intersected. Preliminary assay results from this zone indicate an average grade of 0.128 oz across a true width of 5.25 ft. A mill test for this zone will be conducted shortly.
Subdrifts have been driven 80 ft east and west from the ramp to provide underground drilling stations. Draw points to access the D Zone have been established and drifting along the zone should commence before the end of October.
