Drilling on the Akie property in northern British Columbia has been suspended, owing to inclement weather.
Inmet Mining (TSE), which holds a 60% interest, was in the midst of drilling hole A-95-19 to a target depth of 1,200 metres when the decision was made to discontinue the program. A depth of 825 metres had been reached. The drilling will resume in the spring.
Ecstall Mining (VSE), which holds the remaining 40% interest, reports that work to date has traced the zinc-lead massive sulphide deposit over a strike length of 1,400 metres, a depth of 800 metres and a thickness of 20 metres. The stepout drilling is described as widely spaced.
Ecstall estimates the mineralized zone contains a high-grade core of 12-15 million tonnes grading greater than 10% combined zinc-lead over widths of 6-10 metres. The rough estimate is based on four drill holes within a 600-by-1,000-metre area.
The deposit remains open at depth and along strike, with hole 95-19 representing a 470-metre stepout on strike to the north and 100 metres downdip from 95-18.
Results from the holes within Ecstall’s resource area are as follows: HoleIntervalWidthZincLead
