Drill results from the last two holes of the season at the Wolverine discovery in the Yukon are confirming that 1995 was an auspicious year for Westmin Resources (TSE).
The massive, sulphide zone exists within the Foot property in the Territory’s southeastern region.
Hole 95-23 was drilled from section 16+756E, updip of hole 10, and intersected 1.8 metres (true thickness) grading 14.76% zinc, 0.29% copper and 1.95% lead, as well as 561.5 grams silver and 3.5 grams gold per tonne.
On the most westerly defined extension of the zone (section 16+600E), hole 95-24 was drilled updip of hole 20 and returned 1.8 metres (true thickness) grading 5.18% zinc, 3.11% copper and 0.83% lead, plus 99.1 grams silver and 0.9 gram gold.
Westmin has tested the Wolverine with 15 holes over a strike length of 250 metres and a dip length of 400 metres. The structure remains open in all directions, and is calculated to have a weighted average thickness of 6.2 metres grading 11.82% zinc, 1.05% copper and 1.53% lead, as well as 442.8 grams silver and 2.48 grams gold.
Westmin is earning a 60% interest from Atna Resources (VSE) in a property package that includes the Foot claims in the Wolverine Lake area.
