The Northern Miner’s Staff Writer Blair McBride interviews Alex Davidson, a 2023 Canadian Mining Hall of Fame Inductee during the recent Global Mining Symposium in Toronto.

Alex discusses the importance of partnering and engaging with Indigenous communities on mining developments, pointing to the uncertainty over the Ring of Fire projects in northern Ontario as a result of insufficient engagement.

He also talks about the future of the Canadian Mining of Fame, which he believes will continue to induct technical experts while also embracing diverse members like women and others focused on environmental issues, like Jim Cooney who was inducted with Alex in May.
